Zebra hardware scanner configuration

User profiles for configuration

If the Android device uses multiple user profiles, the configuration steps in this guide must be performed using the same profile where the target application is installed.

A separate DataWedge profile must be configured for each fulfillmenttools application, such as the Operations App and the Inventory App.

Activate the hardware scanner

Zebra devices with a built-in hardware scanner are managed by an application named DataWedge. This application connects the scanner to the fulfillmenttools apps.

  1. Open DataWedge from the app drawer.

  2. Tap the options menu (three dots) in the top-right corner.

  3. Select New Profile.

  4. Enter a profile name. For example, use OperationsApp for the Operations App or InventoryApp for the Inventory App.

  5. Tap Associated apps.

  6. Tap the options menu (three dots) in the top-right corner and select New app/activity.

  7. Select the appropriate package. For the Operations App, select com.ocfulfillment.fulfillmentapp. For the Inventory App, select com.ocfulfillment.inventoryapp.

  8. From the list of activities, select *.

  9. Scroll down to the Intent output section.

  10. Select the Enabled checkbox.

  11. For Intent action, enter com.ocfulfillment.fulfillmentapp.ACTION for the Operations App or com.ocfulfillment.inventoryapp.ACTION for the Inventory App.

  12. For Intent delivery, select Broadcast intent.
