# Using the apps during your free trial

## What are the fulfillmenttools apps?
The Store Operations app helps you to carry out store operations. It's available on iOS and Android, and as a web app.
For this tutorial, we'll be using the Store Operations app on an Android device.
## Why does it matter for my free trial?
Seeing how our apps work will give you an idea of how your team can work together with our solution. It will also show you how our order we created can be picked and packed, then handed over to our consumer.
## Accessing the Store Operations app

**Open Backoffice and log in**
Click the link to Backoffice you were provided in your free trial email. It will follow the `https://ocff-{projectId}-dmo.web.app` structure.

**Download the app**
In the **Network view** of Backoffice, click **Settings** in the left-hand navigation. Then, in the **fulfillmenttools app** section, click the **Store Operations App** button. This opens a modal with a QR code you can scan with your Android device to download the app.
You can also search the Google Play Store and find the app within the results.

**Connect the app to Backoffice**
Once the Store Operations app is open on your Android device, scan the QR code in Backoffice in the **Connect apps** section. This will log you into the app and you're now ready to get picking.

## Picking, packing, handover, and returns
Now we've received an order from a consumer, we need to prepare the items from our shop so they're ready for when the consumer arrives.
### Picking
Picking is the act of collecting the items for an order. We can use the Store Operations app to guide us through the process.

As we haven't adjusted the remote configuration settings, some steps in the process will happen automatically. You can adjust these in the future.

**Access the order**
In the Store Operations app, tap **Orders** in the bottom bar. Then, you'll see the order we created earlier in the order list. Tap on the order to open it.

**Start the picking process**
Tap the **Start** button to begin the picking process.

**Pick the first item**
Tap on the first item in the list, then use the **+** icon to add to increase the amount to 1, then tap **Pick item**.

We haven't added any attributes or locations to our items, which is why they appear empty in these screens.
In the future, you can enable scanning to easily add items.

**Put the item in a container**
The item needs to be added to a container. Tap the + icon, input a name for the container, then tap **Confirm**. You'll then be taken back to the item list where this item has moved to the **Done** tab, and you'll be left with an **Open** item.

**Pick the second item**
Tap on the remaining item in the **Open** list, then use the **+** icon to add to increase the amount to 1, then tap **Pick item**, and select the same container you created in step 4. You'll then be taken back to the item list.

**Complete the picking process**
Slide the slider to finish the task. You'll then see the picking summary, where you can either start the packing process or go back to the order overview.

Now our items have been picked for our consumer's order, we need to pack the items so they're ready for when the consumer arrives.
### Packing
Packing is the act of putting the items for an order into a container. We can use the Store Operations app to guide us through the process.

**Access the packing section**
Tap the **Start packing** button to start the packing process. You'll then be shown what items are needed to pack. Tap the **Continue** button to start.

If you tap, **Go to order overview**, you'll be taken back to the task list where you can start the packing later.

**Select the packed items**
Tap the + icon on each item so all items are packed, then tap **Finish**.

**View documents**
You have the option to print the return note. As we haven't set up a printer, you'll only be able to view the PDF. To do this, select the return note, then tap **Print documents**. When you're ready, tap **Done**.

**Finish packing**
Tap the **Finish packing** button to complete the packing process. You'll be taken back to the order overview screen.

Now our items have been packed for our consumer's order, we need to let the system know when the consumer has picked up their items.
### Handover
Handover is the act of giving the items for an order over to either a carrier, or in this case, directly to the consumer. We can use the Store Operations app to guide us through the process.

**Select the order to handover**
Tap the order that you need to hand over.

**Confirm containers**
Tap the **Continue** button to proceed.

**Review items to handover**
Check the items and number of items match, then tap **Confirm items**.

**Complete the handover process**
The the **Handover** button to complete the handover process. You'll see a successful notification and return to the order overview.
