# Network model

The network model defines the entities and connections that the routing process uses to construct sourcing paths. It covers facility types, facility connections, network topologies, and real‑world examples of typical configurations.

## Simple network

In the standard use case, the order is routed to a single facility. At this facility, the order is either picked up by the consumer or shipped directly to them.

## Complex network with inter-facility connections

In more complex setups, external suppliers and inter-facility supplies are also taken into account. In the advanced routing mode, the entire supply chain is considered within the routing decision.
